God

By David

The topic of God is by far the most controversial and perplexing of all and is the perfect topic to open this blog. When I attempt to explain my understanding of God, this is what I say…God has always existed without a beginning or an end (Rev 1:8; Rev 21:6; Rev 22:13) and as far I as know only energy behaves this way therefore my best explanation for God is that He is pure energy and possesses the information and ability to do all things. Further more God is the culmination of three beings, God the invisible, Christ the word/physical, Spirit the power. I also believe that there is hierarchy among the three. I’m not certain as to the exact order but a hierarchy appears undeniable (John 14:8; 1Cor 11:3). I would like for there to be more information concerning the relationship between each of the Beings that make up The Godhead. However, all I can contribute is that they each are separate but work as one (Matthew 28:19). Therefore, each are God and have similar qualities but different roles and when put together make up the one true God. My understanding of God has not always been defined this way. For most of my life God was physical not invisible and He scared me for all the wrong reasons. God has confused and has provoked my thought for all of my life and now I’m in awe of Him.

God is the creator of all things including time. Therefore, He is not bound by the time dimension He created, so He has no beginning or end (Isaiah 57:15). God uses His own creations and prophetic knowledge to reflect back to Him as the creator and maker of all things therefore, we are without excuse. (Rom 1:20) What an ironic statement because so many highly educated and intelligent people are either unable or unwilling to see what God describes as obvious.

For our world to exist in the way in which it does without divine influence or a designer would be impossible. There are three fundamental topics, science, design and probability which if studied should help in determining that we should not exist. If one takes a close objective look at how our universe, solar system, earth and everything on it/in it came into being then one will find one glaring element that always exists – information. Many unbelievers true faith is based in science and math however, some believe time and probability accomplished the impossible. They can not explain our existence with any rational explanation. Their only explanation is time and chance and this argument is very weak because time and chance do not explain how the information (DNA) that is necessary for the instructions used in the development and operation of all known living organisms was established. Even if we lived in a zoo and we were the creation of some other life form from another planet then there still would be no explanation as to who created our creators. Therefore God though impossible to comprehend is the best explanation because God is the beginning and the source of all information used to carry out design. Man is the discoverer of God’s creation. Man has an instinctive ability to know when something is out of place like finding a cell phone in the middle of desert because we instinctively know that it was placed there by an out side force. We know this because it is unlike anything else around it, in other words it is foreign/unnatural. Therefore, it had to been made and did not arrive there by its self. We discover God’s creations all around us with much more complexity than any machine man has ever made or could make. So why is it we take nature for granted? Is it because in our minds and from our perspective the earth and every natural thing on it is not foreign to us because we were born into it and all that is foreign is man made?

Because I believe God created all things then I must assume that all things that I see and don’t see were created or made by God. Such intangible things would include science, math, time, gravity, emotions, etc… We are also aware of creatures such as angels that are seen at times and not seen most of the time, as far as we know, which opens a whole other perspective on dimensions. Even the objects that humans and animals make are truly made by God because God made us and animals with the ability to create. In other words there wouldn’t be buildings, automobiles, etc… if it were not for God. And believing in Him should help all that do be open mined towards other abstract thought. One can only assume if someone is open minded enough to investigate and accept God’s existence then that same person should be willing to be open to other lesser fantastic beliefs.

What determines what we will accept and not accept? This question frustrates me to no end because I use to think that rationale, logic and information would be all that is necessary for someone to come around to wanting to learn more about God. This point of view is not only false it is shockingly elusive. First hand I have witnessed friends, enemies and family members become completely immune to rationale, logic and information. What gets to me the most is when someone will tell me that they want to know the truth but will not search for it on their own and will reject the truth that I share with them…this behavior is senseless and reckless to me. In my opinion there is no greater importance in life than to understand where we came from and why we are here. But having recently comprehended that only God has the ability to accurately speak of the future, I have discovered the root to sharing God with others. No other being including Satan has the power to accurately speak of the future. Therefore, prophecy is the only attribute of God that proves His existence besides nature which is dismissed as a freak occurrence. If one can not accept the many hundreds of prophetic statements that have come true and are coming true as we move closer to the end of this age then there is nothing that can.

There is no doubt that God is a mystery but He certainly is not a complete mystery. There is ample information that points to God therefore why do so many ignore it? Out of sight, out of mind could be a simple explanation or is it the dust that covers our eyes or both? What is it about God that only He can persuade people back to Him – what are your thoughts?

One Response to “God”

  1. Whiteboy McCoy Says:

With all the due honor of being the first commentator on this beautifully launched new blog, I can only reply with what a stunned B.B. King once said to Bono … “That’s some mighty heavy words there for a young man.”
